Thoughts from the 61st Legislative Session, The Bill of Rights, Some Presidents, Bits of Americana
By Coach Mike Schatz
Mike Schatz has had many experiences in his life, among them teaching, farming, coaching and politics. These and more are the basis for a collection of some of his recollections -- "from the sideline."
The New England, North Dakota, native is currently a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives, having been elected in 2008. He is also the former executive director of the North Dakota Republican Party, a retired 27-year Social Studies teacher, and a coach of the New England Tigers to a 47-game winning streak and four state football titles. The three-time North Dakota High School Coaches Association "Coach of the Year," Schatz was a finalist in 1999 for National Football Coach of the Year.
All of this is woven into the pages of his book, where each chapter reflects more specifically on what he calls his "thoughts from the 61st North Dakota Legislative Session, The Bill of Rights, Some Presidents, and Bits of Americana."
