The Apple Story
By Annika G. Plummer
This sweet story will inspire readers of all ages, just as it did young Annika Nelson Plummer as her grandmother, Martha S. Nelson, shared it with her.
To honor the memory of her grandmother, who died in 2012 at the age of 96, Annika wrote the poem in the book. It is inspired by the story of "The Three Apples," by Carolyn Sherwin Bailey (1875-1961), and illustrated by well-known North Dakota rancher and artist Scott Nelson, (who is no relation to Annika!)
Young Haakon embarks on a search on his farm for a symbol of God's love, and the clues lead him to something everyone too often overlooks.
The story and illustrations share a simple message that will be embraced by all generations.
