By Cathy A. Langemo
This book features the story of a classic western North Dakota ranching operation.
Longtime owner and lifelong cowboy Frank Kubik worked this ranch in the Manning area for about 40 years, raising polled herefords. The ranch was sold to the State in 1980 to be used at the Livestock Research Center at the Dickinson Experiment Station. At the time of the sale, Frank and his wife,, Doris,, donated 20 of their best cattle to the center because they wanted to carry on the ranching tradition.
This books celebrates more than the story of the Kubik family. It's story parallels that of many North Dakota ranching and farming families and their contribution to North Dakota's heritage.
